SWAPDOS provides an application independent method for one PC/MS-DOS application to run another, even if both would normally not fit in memory at the same time. A typical use is to temporarily swap out dBASE to make room for your text editor, or to swap out a text editor so that you can run memory hungry compilers, linkers, or even debuggers without losing your place in an editing session. SWAPDOS works by copying conventional memory used by the currently running application to expanded memory, extended memory, or to a disk file, thereby freeing conventional memory used by the application. SWAPDOS then runs the desired program before restoring the original environment. Shareware.

Symantec Resource Studio v1.0 16-32 bit - October 1995 Windows 3.1/Win95 Use to edit/change resources inside 16/32 bit EXE and DLL files, such as cursors, bitmaps: alter or even change the language in Dialog boxes. This is taken from Symantec C++ 7.0 (I think). It's an unpack and run archive - there was not a separate installer. Although not as well known as Borland's Resource Workshop, this one does work well and offers OLE. After all, Symantec had purchased Zortech right about when it was at version 6.1, and Zortech was the DeLorean of its day - back when good compilers were hard (and expensive) to come by. This is a very low level system information utility that I found on a computer years ago. It provides very detailed stats on the machine you're running and can even benchmark CPU and hard disk speeds and print reports. I'm not sure of it's origin, but it's a very handy tool to have with any old machine. It doesn't run in a virtual environment real well because it uses such low level calls.
