Microsoft Word 1.00 PC World Demo 1.00

Category: Office
Year: 1983
Description:Microsoft Word 1.00 PC World Demo Released in 1983 by Microsoft For IBM PCs running DOS This archive contains one 160k floppy disk image. This is the Microsoft Word demo disk sent out with copies of PC World in 1983. It requires an IBM PC running DOS and at least 128k of ram. Note that this demo is limited in its functionality and can not save documents. The Word demo is not copy protected. To run the Word demo, copy the files from the Files folder to a desired location (a folder or disk) and run word.com using DOSBox. A "raw" 160k disk image is included. It can be mounted as a drive on an emulator such as MESS, and run from there, or it can be written to a real floppy. Note that the disk was formatted for DOS 1.x and is therefore not compatible with WinImage or other utilities that expect a standard DOS disk. An "ImageDisk" image is also included. Use the ImageDisk program to write it to a floppy disk. The image is a little strange. Although it is an 8-sector 160k format, the image has 9 sectors per track with the 9th being blank. Also, the image was read with a 1.2mb drive, so you must specify 300->250 when writing with a 360k drive.
