If the copyright says 2001-2006, then the year must surely be the latter of those two. No-one puts a copyright notice several years into the future.

I think itґs 2001, in the copyright text of the program it says: 2001 - 2006. And at the history file you can see that 1.0 the first release is, and 1.2 the lastest. so 1.0 must be 2001!
