a year or two ago, I had 5 computers, and one of them had windows 3.11. around that time I discovered this site when i was looking for M$ Bob. I installed it on the existing 3.11, set it to start right when 3.11 starts and added "win" to DOS's autoexec.bat in order to start 3.11 right as DOS starts. Then I installed NT 3.1 in a "pseudo-dual-boot" configuration where each was on a separate HD, and it booted a floppy-based bootloader, the UI of which I modified to say "Microsoft Bob 1.00a" and "Microsoft Windows NT 3.1" for Bob and NT 3.1, respectively. I call it "PSEUDO-dual-boot" because it relies on the floppy to boot the secondary OS, otherwise it will only boot DOS/3.11/bob. Lastly, a HUGE thanks to Juliano Vetus et al.

MS BOB is not an OS, it's just a (pathetic) GUI.

i think MS-BOB is a 16-bit OS. If so, ALL 64-bit OPERATING SYSTEMS WILL NOT RUN WITH IT! 64-bit= 32-bit | 32-bit 32-bit= 16-bit | 16-bit Think of that chart for compatibilities. 32-bit OSes can run 16-bit stuff.

I enjoyed MS Bob. Daughter and I learned computer with that program. I can't get it to install on Windows 7 - 64 bit, though. Any help? I did go to properties and clicked: Run under 95 - no luck.

To fix DLL errors in windows 2000/XP, right click on 'my computer' on the desktop and select properties. Go to the advanced tab and click on the environmental variables button near the bottom. Go to the system variables list and find the Path variable. Double-click to edit it. Be careful with this next part because if anything is erased here, it could mess up your computer. If you erase something by mistake, press cancel. Add a semicolon (;) to the end of the 'Variable Value' section and hit the space bar once. Now put the path of the MSBOB installation directory. the default is C:\MSBOB. Click OK until all of the windows are gone and try MSBOB now.

When MS Bob first came out I was running a daycare and it was a great way to introduce small children to computers. One of my ADD kids NOW 18 years old asked if I still had it. Just thought I would take a minute to look for him. It was a very fun animated windows style system. I would love to see it back...MISS YOU BOB
