DOS / hyperkinetix, inc.
This is one of the most versatile batch type programming systems for DOS that I have ever used. It contains the editor, compiler, many example files, extra tools and so much more. It also has a full help file that gives a listing of the available commands and their usage. Although this company (Hyperkinetix) has been out of business for several years and I have not been able to trace down any successor to them, this system and the compiled programs created by it work just fine at least through Windows XP Pro SP2. It will also translate most of the commands present in plain batch files to its own language and compile them.
